It was Judy Singer an Australian Sociologist that coined the word Neurodiversity in 1998. Neurodiversity is a non-medical term that suggest that all brains function, and behave differently.
This means that a person who is considered neurodivergent may have unique advanced strengths and gifts, but may also struggle with some daily basic tasks and relational encounters. Whilst some neurodivergent people may also have a medical condition diagnosed, such as ADHD, ASD CPTSD - it is not always the case.
Simone Biles, 11 time Olympic US gymnast medalist, Anthony Hopkins, an award-winning British actor, and Albert Einstein, the German-born theoretical physicist who is best known for developing the theory of relativity, are some notable people who are considered Neurodivergent.
We typically work with adolescents and young adults who aspire to develop and grow in a balanced and healthy manner. Exceptions can be made under some circumstances.
For NDIS participants we charge the standard hourly rate and other fees are available upon request.
We cover the region from Toronto in Newcastle down to Umina Beach on the Central Coast.
From experience we have found that a minimum of 4 hours per session, and a maximum of 8 hours per week is best. We can also provide online-support if required.
